1-Step Buttonhole

Fastening the Buttonhole Presser Foot:

  1. Remove the presser foot from the shank.
  2. Center the pin in the presser foot under the shank.
  3. Press the Presser Foor and screw down firmly until the shank snaps into place.

Setting the Length of the Buttonhole:

  1. Pull the Buttonhole lever straight down as far as it will go.
  2. Press it toward you.
  3. Place the button against the lever and slide the clamp back until it touches.
  4. Center the red guidelines of the foot around the beginning line.
  5. Lower the presser foot.
  6. Start running the machine.
  7. The entire buttonhole will be sewn in one operation
  8. Stop sewing when the leg starts overlapping the bartack.
  9. Raise the presser foot.
  10. Remove the fabric from the machine.
  11. Clip the loose thread ends; cut the buttonhole opening with scissors or a seam ripper.
  12. Push the buttonhole leever back up into the machine.
  13. If two stitching sides of a buttonhole are unequal, more stitch balance lever to adjust.
  14. If the right side is too open, move the stitch balance lever slightly to the right.
  15. If the left side is too open, move the stitch balance lever slightly to the left.
